The Hands That Touch the Timber

An exhibition showcasing the beauty, potential and sustainability of timber will be presented as part of Melbourne Design Week.

Hosted at the Tongue and Groove Richmond showroom, The Hands That Touch the Timber exhibition will explore the process of woodcraft, the journey of timber from seed to final form, the personal affection people have for timber and using timber as a natural resource.

Two Meet the Makers Sessions will be held – one on 23 May and the other on 1 June – where makers, designers and artisans will discuss the evolution from an idea to a finished timber object. The featured speakers will have their works displayed as part of the exhibition.

This exhibition is brought to life by creative visionaries spanning design, photography, journalism and art. Some of the creatives contributing to the exhibition include Ross Didier, Edward Linacre, Drew Abrahamson, Rochelle Morris, Shannon McGrath and Bolaji Teniola.

This exhibition is presented by Elton Group and Tongue and Groove.
