Capral Schüco windows for Mosman House

Mosman House is prime realestate with its outstanding view of Sydney’s Middle Harbour. While the home’s location is enviable, the house required a total internal and external makeover.

Architects Peter Tout and David Campbell were engaged to manage the renovation.

To maintain optimal exposure to coastal views, the design team selected the Schüco window system by Capral Aluminium. Schüco’s ASS39 sliding panoramic window system, fixed frame and AGS 400 Narrowline curved glass systems were installed throughout the home, as well as Capral’s AGS 35 series awning window system.

Features of the Schüco ASS39 include a handle-free solution for a clean, minimalist design, a recessed sill with drainage, and the option of single or double-glazed windows. Capral’s AGS 35 series has perks of its own, with its double sealed construction that assures weather sealing.

Tout said the Schüco collection was an obvious choice for the project as the windows are “exquisitely designed and made, and they push the boundaries with the narrowness of their frames.”

He said an advantage of the Schüco ASS39 range is the integrated drainage function to prevent water penetration. “People wonder why their homes leak and it’s because they have not been designed to withstand weather conditions. If you have badly designed windows, easterly rain will leak under your carpets, leading to mould or buckling your timber floors. It’s massively expensive to fix.

“It’s essential to get it right, and Schüco’s design and detailing are perfect.”
